Gilbert, Bobby Lee

Bobby Lee Gilbert, 45, of Elliston, died Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at his home. He was born in Christiansburg, Va. on September 15, 1962.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Alma Lee Gilbert. He is survived by his wife, Karen S. Gilbert, of Elliston; his father, Bobby Earl Gilbert and wife, Barbara, of Elliston; a daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Joseph Wirt, of Christiansburg; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice Sue and Butch Theis, of Houston, Texas, Lori Ann and Robert Duncan, of Vinton, Kathy Marie Baum, of Catawba; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018.

Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Thursday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
