Gibson, Virginia Henderson

Virginia Henderson (Sis) Gibson, 94, of Christiansburg, died Thursday, May 22, 2008, at her home.

She was born in Montgomery County, Va., on December 8, 1913, to the late Giles V. and Etta Shaver Henderson and was also preceded in death by her husband, James Heth Gibson; her two sisters, Minnie H. Ellett and Ora Mae (Woodie) Daugherty; and three brothers, Paul Henderson, Julian (Dude) Henderson and Rudolph (Teet) Henderson.

She is survived by three nephews, Bob Henderson, Paul Henderson and wife, Brenda, all of Blacksburg, and Guy Ellett and wife, Juanita, of Radford; great-nephews and great-nieces, John Henderson, Greg Henderson and wife, Tammy, Mark Henderson and wife, Laura, Kevin Ellett, Colleen Farmer and husband, Kyle, and Paula Bryant and husband, Joey; and numerous greatgreat-nieces and great-greatnephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008, in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg with the Rev. Susan Verbrugge officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, May 28, 2008, at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg, Va.
