Gibbs, Patty Sutphin

Patty Sutphin Gibbs, 66, of Christiansburg, ascended to Heaven after a long illness on Sunday, March 4, 2007. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Hallie Sutphin and a brother, Elwin Sutphin.

She was a loving mother and sister that will be missed by those who survive her.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Edward Allen Gibbs and Donald Wayne Gibbs; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Glendon and Ellen Sutphin, Lee and Harold Mullins, Shelbie and George Marenka, Gleoda and Ersell Alderman; grandchildren, Scarlett Gibbs, Candice Gibbs, Eric Gibbs and Angel Gibbs; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at the Horne Funeral. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Ersell Alderman officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to help offset funeral expenses.
