John Edward Gervasio, 64, of Pulaski died unexpectedly on Friday, May 20, 2016, while visiting South Carolina. He was born in Yonkers, New York to William and Luba (Duda) Gervasio.

He attended the University of Connecticut in Storrs, CT where he received a BA in Psychology and minored in Sociology and Asian Studies; he received a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the State University of New York at Albany.

He leaves his wife of 30 years, Sally (Allard) Gervasio; his son, Joseph Goodman and his wife Laura of Pulaski; his son, James Goodman, Jr. of Ridge Manor, FL; his brother, William Gervasio, Jr. and his wife Eleanor of Ormond Beach, FL; his sister, Carolyn Reifers and her husband Mark of Wilton, CT; two grandchildren, and many beloved family members and friends.

Mr. Gervasio was an independent real estate broker specializing in advisory services and project management for real estate developers. He had worked at General Dynamics Corporation as a Senior Organization and Management Development Specialist. He was an Assistant Director for the Connecticut Justice Commission. His many accomplishments include the development of procedure manuals on family violence and hate crimes for law enforcement agencies in Connecticut as well as designing curriculum for training programs for the Connecticut Municipal Police Academy.

At John’s request, there will be no funeral service, but a private burial will be held for the family in Oakwood Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be held in July, details are to be determined and will be announced at a later date.
