Geney, Richard Stephen

Richard Stephen Geney, 85, went to be with his Savior on Nov. 24, 2023. Richard was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 23, 1938. He is now reunited in heaven with his loving wife of 60 years, Carol (Eilerts) Geney, who passed away in 2020.

Richard graduated from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania with a BS in Engineering. His career included roles with American Air and Atlas Copco, before becoming General Manager for General Environment Systems until his retirement in 2014. Richard spent the first 50+ years of his life in northern New Jersey, where he and Carol raised their family. They moved to the greater Greensboro, NC area in 1991.

Richard loved spending time with his family hiking, skiing, cycling and helping with building projects. He was a faithful servant in churches wherever he lived. As a youth, he was actively involved in Camp Brookwoods/Deer Run in Alton, NH as a camper and counselor. In his adult years, he served there as a trip leader, bike mechanic and volunteer for many camp building projects.

He is survived by his sister, Virginia (Geney) Harman, his children Suzanne (Geney) Kramer, David Stephen Geney, Kristin (Geney) Clary and their families.
