Gemmell, Josephine Hall

Josephine Woolling Hall (Jo) Gemmell, 87, of Pulaski, died Thursday, June 7, 2012, in the Pulaski Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Pulaski on October 24, 1924, and was the daughter of the late William Thomas Hall and Lula Whitaker Hall. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Summers Gemmell.

Mrs. Gemmell was a member of The Family Worship Center. Surviving are her daughters and son-in-law, Sharon Leigh Gemmell, Suzanne and David Sharpe; sister, Dixie Jordan; grandchildren and spouses, Keely S. and Marshall Lillard, Gretta Jo and Chris Eanes, David “Trey” and Christine Sharpe; great-grandchildren, Joshua Gavin Lillard, Julia Grace Lillard, Jason Gabriel Lillard, Michael David Sharpe (due to enter this world on June 25, 2012).

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2012, from The Family Worship Center with the Rev. Gerald Meeks and the Dr. C.R. Connor officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visiting will be held Saturday from The Family Worship Center where the family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made to The Daily Bread, 408 N. Jefferson Ave., Pulaski, VA 24301, or donations may be made in honor of Julia Grace Lillard to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 207 West Park Blvd., Suite 150, Columbia, SC 29210.
