Gear, Jettie L. (Granny)

Jettie L. (Granny) Gear, 93, of Blacksburg, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 in Riverdale, Ga. She was born in Texline, Texas on October 21, 1917 to the late Charles and Belauh Harris Stepp. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Archiann Chambers. She had resided for the last four years with her granddaughter, Kathy Morgan and her best friend, Tammy Shannon, of Riverdale, Ga. She is survived by her son, Gail Gear, Soldotna, Alaska; her daughter, Jettie Eloise McCoy, Blacksburg; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nine great-greatgrandchildren; and five generations of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Blacksburg First Church of God with Pastor David Ansley officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday prior to the service at the church.
