Garrison, Ruth Lane

Ruth Lane Garrison, 94, of Christiansburg, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2012, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She is survived by her husband of 74 years James Garrison (who is 99); her son, Jim and his wife, Marsha Garrison; her daughter, Nina Clopton; her granddaughters, Anne Garrison and her husband, Dave Oates and Kacy Clopton; her grandson, Clint and his wife, Bambi Garrison; and her great-grandchildren, Connor and Jenna Garrison. Her life was one filled with her faith and her love for others. Her home was always open to others and a gathering place for the celebration of life and where her love was shared with all. Her love and her pats will be greatly missed by her family and all those who knew her. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 15, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Monday, June 18, 2012, at 1 p.m. at University Baptist Church, 1223 W. Main St., Charlottesville, with the Rev. Keith Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, 3251 Seminole Trail, Charlottesville. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to University Baptist Church, 1223 W.
