Verna May Smith Gallimore of Swainsboro, Georgia, was born on August 19th, 1933 in Ravenna, Ohio and on August 29th, 2022, went to be with her Lord and Savior. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Sunday school teacher, mentor, and caregiver. She was always there when someone needed her, and spent many years taking care of the elderly and infirm often for little or no pay.

In her life, she lived in Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, and finally, in Georgia. She was a pillar of strength in every church in every state she lived in. People always depended on her as a prayer warrior, and she never denied anyone her time. After moving to Georgia, her failing health and increased medical needs required her to reside in a nursing home where she was also a prayer warrior and friend to many with the reputation of one who never ran out of things to say. She had a big heart and was loving and kind to everyone she met. Everyone who knew Verna loved her. She will be greatly missed by family and friends, and Heaven has gained a treasure.

She was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Gallimore, her son Otis Sams, 5 sisters , a brother, 2 grandchildren Brandon Henley and Stephen Brent Vaughn. She is survived by her daughter Sherry McCurdy (James), sons Steven Sams(Brenda), Harry Sams, and Timothy Sams(Donna).

Grandchildren :James McCoy, Ashley Walling, Elizabeth Kirk , Audrey McCary, Rachael Marshall,Heather Nowak, Blake Sams and Christopher Pennewell.
