gallimore_fred_warren_srFred Warren Gallimore Sr, 80, of Indian Valley, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016. Fred Was born in Montgomery County, to the late James Thomas and Nannie T. Craighead Gallimore on May 5, 1936.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; and several brothers and sisters.

Fred, an Army veteran retired from Alliant TechSystems. Fred married his Sweetheart and their love spanned 59 wonderful years. They were blessed with four children. For Fred his most Important role in life was that of a father. He devoted his Life to his children and grandchildren. He was loved by every child he met as well as most adults. He was the Best father his children could have asked for. He was a Kind, gentle man who had long talks with his children, gently guiding them along life’s paths. He will always be Remembered for his kind, loving soul and his wonderful Humor. He loved animals, nature and flowers. He was happy to live his life on his son’s farm and raise cattle. He loved his little Chihuahua, Maggie May and his cat, Smokey.

Fred is survived by his wife, Sarah A. Gallimore; and children, James W. Gallimore and his special friend, Gail Keith, Deborah S. Cumbee and her husband Frank J. Cumbee, Fred W. Gallimore Jr. and his wife Patty Gallimore; and his daughter, Melissa J. Davis. Melissa’s significant other, Brian W. Townsend, passed away last year but loved and was loved by Fred for many years; his grandchildren, Joshua Gallimore, Jason Wood and Wife Deborah Wood, his little Angel Sarah Willis and her spouse Blaine Whittaker, Logan Gallimore, Kaleb Gallimore, Bonnie Gallimore, Jeremy Cumbee, Jordan Cumbee, and Justin Cumbee. He was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren that he loved dearly. Fred Is also survived by his brother, Tommy Gallimore; and his sisters, Edith Whipkey and her husband Al, Gladys Joyce and Grace Sutphin and her husband Ernest.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 12 p.m. at The Chapel at Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg with a memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Junior Bentley officiating.
