Leslie Allen Gallimore (Big Jack) was born Dec. 13, 1911, left this life to see his Heavenly Father face to face, on May 26, 2006.

He was a member of the Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church. He attended many other churches while helping to build and support churches all over the New River Valley. His love for God was exemplary, reaching out to all people. His worship and praise to his Heavenly Father were always upon his lips, though most difficult times while bed ridden and dependent. We believe of all the many accomplishments he had in life, the greatest that he would like all people to know is that HE LOVED GOD.

His wife Cornelia was the love of his life, being married for 71 years. He and Cornelia were blessed with four sons, Chester and Carol, Donald and Ara, Dale and Dee, Mac and Lilley. He is survived by three sisters, Arnie Simpkins, Dovie Quesenberry, Isabelle and husband Lewis Shelor; two brothers and sisters-in-law Charles and Oneta Gallimore, Roger and Irena Jean Gallimore; sister-in-law, Irene Gallimore; special sister-in-law and husband Elaine and Bill Dobyns; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by two sisters, Roxie Boy, Edith Quesenberry; one brother, Vinton Gallimore.

We would like to thank his caregivers at home that lovingly took care of him, the Carilion Home Health Care givers, Dr. Conaster, the nurses/aids at Radford Carilion Hospital and all who visited with him, praying with him for his daily strength and encouragement until his passing. Special thanks to Christiansburg Rescue Squad and in lieu of flowers please give donations to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, Va 24068 or your local church.
