Gallimore, Edward Junior

Edward Junior (Smiley) Gallimore, 58, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandpa, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born August 29, 1950, in Christiansburg, Va., to the late Harry Edward and Virginia Louise Stump Gallimore.

Edward loved life and everyone, more than life itself. He was employed for 25 years by Vulcan Materials.

He leaves to cherish the memories his wife of 37 years, Barbara Long Gallimore, of the home; a daughter, Elizabeth “Buffy” Sumner, of the home; a son, Darrell “Tater” Gallimore, of Belews Creek; three grandchildren, Tyler, Amanda Gallimore and Raina Sumner; a sister, Darlene McGuire; four brothers, Curtis Stump, Jimmy, David and Wayne Wirt.

A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2008, at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home, in Kernersville, with the Rev. Frank Shumate Officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2008, at the funeral home.
