Galliher, Dorothy Johnston

Dorothy Johnston Galliher, 99, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in the care of Heritage Hall – Rich Creek. She had been a resident of Ripplemead, VA, for many years. She was the daughter of the late William T. & Vinnie Stafford Johnston and was the last of her immediate family.

Her husband, Claude E. Galliher, preceded her in death. Also preceding her were two brothers & sisters-in-law, W. Preston & Clara Edith Johnston, of Staffordsville and Wiley J. & Elizabeth S. Johnston, of Bland; two sisters & brothers-in-law, Hazel & John Pritt, of East Bank, WV and Ruby & Ernest Davis, of Pearisburg, and her son-in-law, Ronald E. Morris of Bane, VA.

She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Judy G. Morris, of Bane, VA and Patsy & Kenny Dowell, of Pearisburg; one son & daughter-in-law, Larry & Julie Galliher, of Maybrook, VA; four grandchildren, Stephen & Tammi Morris, of Pearisburg, Matthew Galliher, of Wirtz, VA, Sarah & Chris Midkiff, of Pearisburg and Emily & Josh Cook, of Maybrook, VA; eleven great-grandchildren Lucas, Dylan, Ethan, Skyler, Emma, Brantlee, Rhett, Penny, Beaux, Raelynn and Luke; and many nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Charles Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 P.M. until service time, 2:00 P.M,
