GABBARD, Margaret W.

Margaret W. Gabbard, of Gainesville, Fla., died March 20, 2006 at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg, Va.

She was born in Lexington, Ky. and moved to Melborne, Fla. in 1954. She has lived in Gainesville since 1980. Member of the First Christian Church. Graduate of Midway Girls School in Midway, Ky., Order of Eastern Star and a veteran of World War II, serving two years as a WAVE in the U.S. Navy.

Mrs. Gabbard was the daughter of A.V. and Cynthia Wheat. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harry E. Gabbard, who died in 1993.

Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas L. Gabbard and Nancy of Blacksburg, Va.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the Blacksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Reggie Tuck officiating. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, Va.
