Geneva Frances Thompson Furrow, 59, of Fairlawn, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 11, 2009, in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born February 7, 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Lytton Thompson and Oakley E. Thompson; an infant son, Dower Jr.; two brothers, James E. Thompson (PeeWee) and Jimmy Leon Thompson.

She will be sadly missed by her husband of 40 years, Dower Aubrey Furrow, of Fairlawn, daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and Danny Simpkins, of Walton, Loretta (Lynn) and John Whittaker, of Dublin, Lisa (Missy) and Jerry Ross, of Radford; a stepdaughter, Jane McAlexander, of Stuart; grandchildren, Todd and Teresa Weddle, Ashley and Kayla Whittaker, Anthony (Andy) and Cary Simpkins; step grandchildren, BillyJack, Tony, Cameron, and Jeff Wright; a great-granddaughter, Haley Weddle; a sister, Brenda Weddle, of Walton; a special niece, Judy Thompson; many other nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

With special thanks to New River Valley Dialysis Center in Radford. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2009, at DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Lee Sarver officiating. Internment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family win receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford, Va.
