Furrow, Dower Aubrey
Dower Aubrey Furrow, 70, of Radford, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 4, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Thompson Furrow; mother, Elizabeth Furrow Reed; and infant son, Dower Jr. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughters, Jane McAlexander, Loretta (Lynn) Whittaker, Lisa (Missy) Ross and Frances Simpkins; brothers, Clyde Reed and James (Buddy) Reed; sisters, Geneva (Needie) Rummell and Frances (Frankie) Odham; grandchildren, Todd and Teresa Weddle, Ashley and Kayla Whittaker, Anthony (Andy) and Cary Simpkins, Billy Jack, Tony, Jeff, and Cameron Wright; greatgrandchildren, Haley and Kaelyn Weddle, Lilly Wright, and Adelaide Quesenberry, and two on the way; and many special nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. He was retired from Radford City Schools where they knew him as “Big D.” Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2011, at Walton Pentecostal Holiness Church with Brother Lee Sarver officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford, Va., is in charge of arrangements.

dear dad, i think i have finally found the family no one ever really heard of. losing you made me realize there are so many people here on earth, that is kin and we dont know. i know he did so many things for you all the time, but i never heard of him before. i hope you can hear my thoughts in heaven, that you know my heart and mind and you know i hold no ill will. all of us here on earth are not always perfect. but now you are gods perfect angel. an i know you would not have it any other way… jane
