Jennie Sue Vaughan Frost, 96, of Pulaski, went to he with the Lord on Tuesday, July 10, 2007.

She was born in Newbern, Va. on November 20, 1910, the daughter of the late Hampton C. Vaughan and Bertha Charlton Vaughan. Also preceding her in death was her husband, L. Brown Frost who owned and operated Frost Service Station; her sisters, Billie Ellis, Lucille Chrisman, and Sherwood Basham; brothers, Charles and H.C. Vaughan, Jr.; special friends of over 60 years Berkie Lindamood and Beulah Vinson.

An alumni of William Byrd High School in Vinton, Va. and a 1933 graduate of Averrt University with an A.S. in Art, her beautiful paintings and artwork decorate her home. She was a seamstress for over 40 years and did alterations in her home up until her heart attack in 2001. During the 60’s, she did alterations for Silgin’s and various other stores and clients, worked at Roses during the 70’s and early 80’s. She was a charter member of the Madeline Harman Woman’s Club, active member of the Pulaski Fire Dept. Women’s Auxiliary and one of the oldest members of the First Christian Church, Pulaski. Every day she will be remembered with love and wonderful memories by her daughter.

Surviving are a daughter, Charlotte Marie Frost of Pulaski; nieces, Christine Vaughan, Diane Ingram, Virginia Giles, Joan Whetzel, Jacqueline Frost, and Eilleen Jackson; nephews, Steven Vaughan, Ronald Vaughan and Stanley Frost; special friends and caregivers, Brenda Arnold, Joan Eads, Teresa Seagle, Marie East, Jane Wysor, Sonya Morefield, Shirley Morefield, Doris West, Patricia Nunn, Cindy Dowdy and the late Louise Hath.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 14, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Newbern Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Winn officiating. Visiting will be at Stevens Funeral Home from 1 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. on Saturday before the graveside service. Flowers would be appreciated, however, the family wishes memorials to be made to the Fine Arts Center of the New River Valley or the PuIaski Humane Society.
