French, Virginia Lee

Virginia Lee French, 76, of Pearisburg, VA departed this life Tuesday evening, March 14, 2017 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, VA.

Born in Charleston, WV on February 16, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Davenport and Orpha May Wade Buchanan. She was a retired seamstress working as a supervisor for the US Military, was a member of Angels Rest Baptist Fellowship in Pearisburg, and had formerly lived in Tennessee and Peterstown, WV.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Arthur D Shelton (a Viet Nam Casualty).

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons and daughters-in-law Thomas A Shelton and Susanne of Peterstown, WV and Roho Dewayne French and Tara of Peterstown; her beloved grandchildren Gavin Daniel French and Gabriel Dalton French of Peterstown, WV, Joshua Cole Shelton ( Ashlee), and Jesse Erin Hann (Mark) of Knoxvillle, TN.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday evening at 7:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with her Pastor, Craig Whittaker officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the services. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 am in the Miller Cemetery at Rock Creek, WV.
