Arnold Edward French, 80, of Narrows, Va., went to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at his home. Mr. French was born on March 30, 1930, in Giles County, Va. and was a son of the late Andrew Johnson French and Lathey Clark French.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, William (Bill) French and two sisters, LaRue F. Ferrell and Juanita F. Jones.

Mr. French was a retired employee of the Giles County School Board and was a member of the Williams Chapel Church of Christ of Narrows. Mr. French was an avid baseball player in his earlier years and loved to hunt and fish.

He is survived by two sons, Juddie Michael French, of Narrows, Jamie Keith French and his wife, Crystal, of Narrows; one brother, Richard Carr French, of Rich Creek; two sisters, Dorothy F. Hayworth and Cary F. Clevenger; one grandson, Adam Edward French, of Narrows; and two grandchildren, Cody Allan French and Talia Diane French.

Memorial services will be conducted at the Williams Chapel Church of Christ of Narrows, Sunday, February 6, 2011, at 4 p.m. with Minister Harold Goins officiating. The family will receive friends at the church 2 hours before the service from 2 to 4 p.m.
