Freeman, Betty Ruth

Betty Ruth Freeman, 77, of Rich Creek, Va., passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2008, at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion. She was born in Bradshaw, Va., on November 9, 1931, and was the daughter of the late Henry Dale and Katherine Buck Freeman. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by a brother, E. Sidney Freeman.

Betty lived a life of gratitude, always showing appreciation and thanksgiving for the blessings in her life.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Betty Freeman, of Claytor Lake; a very special cousin, Violet Ould, of Glen Lyn; and several cousins.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2008, in the chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with the Rev. Aubrey Whitlow officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Rich Creek. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Chapel on Sunday starting at noon just prior to the service.
