Frederick, Ralph David

Ralph D. Frederick, 90, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2008. He was born July 2, 1917, in Indianapolis, Ind., where he devoted many years to the Shrine Children’s Hospitals, Pennsylvania Railroad and Ford Motor Company.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn Hadley Frederick; grandson, Trent West; and his parents, Homer and Ethyl Frederick. He is survived by his daughters, Jeananne Dixon, of Christiansburg, Va., and Janet West and husband, John, of Penticton, British Columbia; his sisters, Jane Falconbury, Lois Tandy and husband, Richard; four grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was devoted to his family, landscaping and V.T. basketball teams.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital or the Pulaski Care and Rehab Center’s activities fund.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008, at the Gallion Presbyterian Church, Max Meadows, Va. A celebration of his life reception will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008, at the home in Christiansburg.
