Franklin, Quentin Roosevelt

Quentin Roosevelt Franklin, 92, of Pulaski, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2014. He was a retired carpenter and served in both the U. S. Army and the U. S. Navy. He was the last survivor of 10 brothers. He was preceded in death by life partner Maxine Weaver.

Survivors include two sons, Rick Franklin of Roanoke County and Dale Franklin of Pulaski; step-daughter, Lisa Akers and her husband Tommy of Fairlawn; granddaughters, Melissa Sparks, Rachel Franklin and Shannon Franklin; 2 great-grandchildren; and Maxine’s son Jeff Weaver and his daughter Grace; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Services will be private on a later date at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.
