Shirley Boothe Francis, age 84, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at her home on Sunday, October 30, 2022. Shirley was born on July 18, 1938, to James E. “Ed” and Louise Ferguson Boothe of Peterstown, WV.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Robert “Bob” Francis, as well as her only brother, Jimmy Boothe.

Shirley’s most treasured gifts here on earth were her four children, Robbie Francis of Peterstown, WV, Cathi Francis Biggs (Mike) of Lindside, WV, Terri Francis Patteson (Rusty) of Narrows, VA, and Lisa Francis of Aiken, SC. Shirley had nine grandchildren that she loved dearly, Lori Ann Marlow, Stacy Patteson Ries (Michael), Michael Biggs (Megan), Loren Darm (Erik), Ryan Johnston (Samantha), Joshua Spangler, Whitney Bowers (Bret), Matthew Patteson, and Beth Huie (Rob); 18 great grandchildren who brought so much joy to her life; and 1 great great granddaughter. She also had three sisters that are left to cherish her memories, Sue Hall (Larry), Connie Robertson (Steve), all of Peterstown, WV, and Dreama Pate of Glen Daniel, WV. Also, Shirley had two sister-in-laws that were very special to her, Dorothy Dunn of Peterstown, WV, and Karen Yawn of Baxley, GA. Additionally, she had many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and her Church family. Lastly, Shirley leaves behind her precious little dog, Sadie Anne, who she adored.

Shirley attended and was a founding member of The Appalachian Christian Center. She owned and operated her beauty shop, The Hair Place, for 26 years. Shirley loved to sing and give her family special gifts all through the year, especially at Christmas. She was one special lady and will be missed so much by everyone who knew her.

A Celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at The Appalachian Christian Center in Peterstown, WV, with her Pastor and Son-in-law, Mike Biggs officiating. Burial will follow at the Peterstown Cemetery in Rich Creek, VA, where she will be laid to rest beside her dear husband. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 12:00PM until the time of services on Tuesday at the church.
