Fraizer, Marlene

Marlene Fraizer, 63, of Newport, died on Thursday, September 13, 2012, at Heritage Hall. She was born in Roanoke, Va., on April 9, 1949, to the late Martin and Myrtle Caldwell Canode. She was a life long member of the Newport-Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church where she loved to teach Sunday School and sing in the choir. She is survived by her son, Jay Frazier, of Newport; special cousin, Devonne Reynolds, of New Castle; husband, Allen; numerous cousins; and other relatives. Funeral Services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2012, in the Newport-Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 311 Blue Grass Trail, Newport, with the Rev. Morris Fleischer officiating. Interment will follow in the Huffman Cemetery, Craig County. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McCoy Funeral Home to help offset expenses for the family. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday evening at the the church prior to the service. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, Va.
