Fought, Blake Edward
Blake Edward Fought, 19, of Blacksburg, Virginia, ascended to the glory of Heaven on March 2, 2007 after sudden complications due to illness.
He is survived by his parents, Amy B. and Mark W. Fought; sister, Kaitlyn E., 12, all of Blacksburg; as well as his maternal grandparents, Maren and Donald Johnson of Hillsboro, Ohio; his paternal grandparents, Donna J. and Ray E. Fought of Parkersburg, West Virginia; and his planned fianc?e; Cathe Minnehan of Falls Church, Virginia.
Blake was a student at Radford University, majoring in Media Studies with emphasis in Journalism. He was actively involved in the Chi Alpha Christian Camp Ministries student organization at Radford University. He enjoyed sports, particularly the Chicago Cubs, music and writing. He was the Sports Editor of The Tartan, Radford University’s student newspaper. Although his time on God’s good Earth was cut tragically short, he touched so very many in such a profound and positive manner.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 5, 2007 at First Christian Church, 400 Tyler Ave., Radford, Va. with Pastor Earl Hanks, Dr. Thomas G. Harvey, and Pastor Aaron Hall officiating. There will be no public visitation.
In lieu of flowers the family requests a contribution be made to the Blake E. Fought Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the Central Virginia Chapter of the West Virginia University Alumni Association, 3951 Westerre Parkway, Suite #400, Richmond, Virginia 23233.
