Foster, John Ray

John Ray Foster, age 48, of Dublin died Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at his home. He was preceded in death by his father David Foster; his maternal grandparents, Carl and Jacqueline McPherson; his uncle, Iven McPherson.

He is survived by his daughters, Samantha Linkous, Carlee Linkous, Lauren Linkous; son, Stephen Linkous; mother, Robin McPherson; brothers, Geoffrey Mayo, Matthew Mayo; sister, Angela Martin; grandchildren, Aiden and Addalee Painter; uncles, Bruce (Pauline) McPherson, Chuck McPherson; aunt, Judy (Charles) Chandler; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Johnny was an avid reader and he loved to hunt and fish. He was also a dedicated Cowboys football fan.

Memorial services will be conducted Friday, November 17, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dan Purdom officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Friday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. S.W. Blacksburg, VA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to help offset expenses.
