ford ann hancockAnn Hancock Ford, 75, of Elliston, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 13, 2013. She was born August 9, 1937. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elliston and was a gifted seamstress. She was preceded in death in November 2011 by her husband of 56 years, Ronnie Ford. She was also predeceased by her parents, John and Lorina Hancock; son, Reggie Ford; grandson, Brendon H. Ford; brothers, Buddy Hancock and John T. Hancock Jr.; and sister, Isabelle Covington. Left to mourn are three daughters, Darlene (Rev. Tyrone) Carter, of Roanoke, Kathy Ford and Maria Ford, both of Elliston; two sons, Bill Ford and Kenny Ford, both of Elliston; grandchildren, Dominique Ford, Ty (Brandi) Carter, of Winston Salem, N.C., T’Neece Ford, Stacey Carter, Alicia Ford, KJ Ford, Jason Ford and Ron Ford; nine great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Brenda Claxton; and a host of relatives and friends. The family would like to express gratitude to all the doctors and nurses at Lewis-Gale Medical Center, Salem. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2013, at the First Baptist Church Elliston, 4860 Calloway Street, Elliston, with the Rev. Lee A. Pusha officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church.
