Folger, James

James Folger departed this world Thursday, January 19, 2017 after a battle with Parkinson’s Disease, which is attributed to his traumatic brain injury from being struck by a drunk driver while riding a bicycle as a child.

He celebrated his 78th birthday on January 15, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home. He graduated from DePaul University in Chicago and worked for Western Electric and AT&T in the United States and Bangkok, Thailand. He loved to jog, hike, fish, golf, and read. He had a passion for music and at the age of 74, he started piano lessons. He married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn, and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary August, 2016.

He leaves behind his wife, his daughter Debra Shipman, and son-in-law, Anthony Shipman. He also leaves behind his best friends, Richard and Brenda Mazon, Donna Newman; and a host of family; friends; and relatives. Services will be private. Dad, you will always be in our hearts.
