Flinchum, Lloyd E.

Lloyd E. Flinchum, 80, of Indian Valley, Va, passed away on October 27, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mildred Flinchum. He is survived by his son, Wendell Flinchum (Sharon), grandchildren Adam (Sheila), Renea and Alexis and great-grandson Dante.

Lloyd is also survived by his brother, James I Flinchum and sister, Nelva Shelton along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is also survived by a special friend, Daniel Sanchez who was like a son to Lloyd.

Lloyd retired from Virginia Tech in 2003 after 35 years of service. He loved all things automobile related and enjoyed car auctions, shows and junk yards. He especially enjoyed driving his 1951 Ford Victoria (Vicky) to shows and around the country side. Lloyd operated a used car business for many years and enjoyed interacting with people he met at garages, DMV, junk yards and auctions. He was a good father and friend who will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on October 30, 2021 from 12pm until 2:00 pm. A private graveside service will be held at a later time.
