Flinchum, Jessie

Jessie R. Flinchum Jr., 79, of Pilot, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 17, 2011, with his family by his side. He was born on October 9, 1931. He was preceded in death by his father, Jess Flinchum; mother, Charity R. Flinchum; five brothers; and one sister. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Donna M. Flinchum; son, Billy and wife, Judy, of Christiansburg; son, Jeffery Flinchum, of Pilot; sister, Shirley and husband, Sidney Hodge, of Christiansburg; brother, Eugene and wife, Nancy Flinchum, of Pilot; and several nieces and nephews. He attended the Harbor of Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a lifelong resident of Pilot. He was a carpenter by trade and retired from Virginia Tech in July of 1955. Thank you to Dr. Choubey and the nurses and staff in the PCU at NRV Medical Center. A big thank you to Dr. Leslie Badillo and his nurse, Angie, for their care over the past several years. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, July 19, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Horne Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2011, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Leon Alley officiating.
