Henry Nelson Flinchum went to be with the Lord, Aug. 18, 2006 at New River Valley Medical Center, Radford, Va. Nelson was a member of the Oak Grove Church. He retired from Imperial Reading with 40 years and six years with Montgomery County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess Ross and Charity Kirkner Flinchum, a sister, Velma F. Sutherland, two brothers, Marvin A. Flinchum and Orris Lee (Bud) Flinchum, two nieces, Barbara Rice and Valarie Flinchum, a nephew, Russell Ross Flinchum and a sister-in-law, Hilda Flinchum.

He is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley Jean and Sidney Hodge, of Christiansburg; four brothers and sister-in-law, Paul A. Flinchum of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Herbert and Margaret Flinchum, Jessie and Donna Flinchum, Eugene (Pete) and Nancy Flinchum, all of Pilot; numerous dear nieces and nephews; and many wonderful and dear friends.

The family wishes to thank NRV Medical Center, everyone involved in the care of Nelson and all ministers that visited him. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2006 at the Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, August 21, 2006 at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leon Alley officiating.
