Flinchum, Edith Simpkins

Edith Hester Simpkins Flinchum, 97, of the Snowville Community in Hiwassee, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013. Born June 1, 1915, in Snowville, she was the daughter of the late Garfield Simpkins and Sarah Katherine Quesenberry Simpkins.

Her husband, Alfred Flinchum; sisters, Icey Akers and Tokie Windle; and brothers, Colon, Rupard, Griffie, Osgood and Oden Simpkins, also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Aaron Rudolph “Rudy” Flinchum, of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013, at the Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski. Interment will follow at the Simpkins Family Cemetery.
