Flinchum, Barbara Shrewsberry

Barbara Shrewsberry Flinchum, age 76, of Blacksburg died Friday, March 22, 2013 at Kroontje Health Care Center. She was born in Hinton, WV on December 24, 1936 to the late William Russell and Velma Lowry Shrewsberry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Charles “Bud” Flinchum; sister, Dorothy Mae Turman. She was a member of Slussers Chapel Church of God and the Women’s Church of God organization where she served as Treasurer. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Morehead of Blacksburg; sons, William M. Flinchum of Blacksburg, Robert C. “Bobby” Flinchum of Floyd; grandchildren, Perry (P.J.) Morehead, Jr., Crystal Morehead, Eric, Aaron and Joey Flinchum; great-grandchild, Patrick Deven Polly; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia S. and Paul Baker of Bluefield, WV; brother-in-law, Roscoe Turman of Blacksburg; sisters-in-law, Mildred Martin of Durham, NC, Susie Dulaney of Florida; half brothers, Russell Shrewsberry and wife, Phyllis of Franklin, TN, Dennis Shrewsberry; aunt, Christine Lowry; special friends, Suzanne McMurray, Frances Burton, Doris Smith. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 2:00 pm in the Slussers Chapel Church of God with the Rev. Richard Gilbert and Rev. Steve McMurray officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 pm Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
