fletcher randall wolfordRandall Wolford Fletcher, 61, of Narrows, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012, at Carilion Giles Community Hospital, Pearisburg. Born October 19, 1951, at Narrows, he was the son of the late Mason Ivy and Virgie Carter Fletcher. He was President and Founder of the Veterans Memorial Park, Narrows, Lifetime Member of the VFW Post 6000, American Legion Post 68, Lifetime Member of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Lifetime Member of DAV, Lifetime Member of the Izaak Walton League and one of the founding members of the Enduring Freedom Committee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Ronald and Joseph Fletcher; two sisters, Beatrice Robertson and Louise Baker. Survivors include his loving wife, Harriet Ratcliff Fletcher, one son, Randall Mason Fletcher and wife Kimberly of Locust Grove, one daughter, Amy Elizabeth Fletcher and fiance, Todd Meredith, of Narrows; one brother, Roy Fletcher, of Narrows; three sisters, Marie Robertson, Reba Mann, both of Pearisburg, and Doris Williams, of Narrows, four grandchildren, Gavin, Andrew, Rhea and Hunter; his special canine, Hope, many close friends and extended family. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2012, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Sawyers officiating. Burial will follow in the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin, with Military Rites by American Legion Post 311, VFW Post 6000, American Legion Post 68 and Rowe Jones Post 145. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at the funeral home.
