James Larry Fleeman, 67, of Narrows, went home to be with the Lord Friday, September 10, 2010, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. A lifelong resident of Narrows, he was born in Pearisburg April 8, 1943, and was the son of the late John David (Dave) and Sindy Lou Robertson Fleeman. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Joey Fleeman; and two brothers, Milton Fleeman and Emmett Fleeman. An avid fisherman, James loved playing the guitar and spending time with his children and grandchildren. A loving husband, father and grandfather, he will be deeply missed by his family and friends, including his dog, Cookie and his cat, Lilly. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Carolyn Fleeman; a daughter, Melissa Fleeman and fiance, Jimmie (Jim Bob) Fillinger, of Narrows; a son, James Larry Fleeman Jr. and wife, Janell, of Rich Creek; two grandchildren, Dylan Fleeman and Krista Fleeman, both of Narrows; a sister, Helen Blankenship, of Bluefield, West Virginia; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and many special friends. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows with the Rev. Jim Pickett officiating.
