Fleeman, Carolyn Dent

Carolyn Ann Fleeman, age 75, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg, VA. Born September 15, 1945, in Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Rosie E. White Dent.

Carolyn worked as a seamstress at a commercial sewing factory. She loved softball, which she played in her younger years. Additionally, she loved her cat, Lilly. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Larry Fleeman; one son, Joseph David “Joey” Fleeman; and one sister, Alice Vest. Survivors include one son, James “Jimmy” Fleeman and wife Janell of Rich Creek, VA; one daughter, Melissa “Missy” Fleeman of Rich Creek, VA; one sister, Donna Gregory of Charleston, WV; two grandchildren, Dylan Austin Fleeman and fiancé Kayla Reynolds, and Krista Brooke Fleeman and Alex Bowling; one nephew, David Sowards; and two nieces, Anna and Lora.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00PM on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Fairview Cemetery in Narrows, VA, with Rev. Kevin Shirey officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to help offset funeral expenses.

Due to the regulations associated with COVID-19, those attending the graveside services shall wear a mask and practice social distancing.
