Flanigan, Geraldine Bivens

Geraldine Bivens Flanigan, 90, of Rich Creek, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital, Pearisburg. Born June 29, 1922 at Arista, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Viva Calfee Bivens. Mrs. Flanigan was a homemaker and dedicated her life to her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Joseph Flanigan, one brother, Woodrow Bivens, sister, Frances Taylor, and a grandson, Troy Long. Survivors include three daughters, Regina F. Comer and husband, Leonard, of Rustburg, Theresa A. Long and husband, Carswell, of Orange Park, Fla., and Bobbie Urquhart and husband, Larry, of Peterstown, W.Va.; one sister, Anna Lee Greer, of Princeton, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Robbie and Joey Urquhart, Chris Marsh, Missy Sherman, and Brian Comer; seven great grandchildren, Chelsey and Hannah Urquhart, Justin and Kirby Marsh, Danielle and Austin Sherman and Autumn Comer; two step granddaughters, Stephanie and Julie Lombardo. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2012, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, W.Va., with Dr. Stephen Brock officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery, Princeton, W.Va.. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time of services.
