Janet Faye Farley Fitzgerald, 68, of Narrows, passed away peacefully in her sleep and went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 17, 2011. She was born in Narrows on August 19, 1942, and was the daughter of the late Homer Caudill and Ada Gertrude Lawson Farley. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Farley. She attended Christ Episcopal Church in Pearisburg, and was an avid NASCAR fan, loved playing cards and getting together with family and friends. But even more special, she loved her two cats, Monkey and Violet. Janet will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Dale Fitzgerald and friend, Magin Shea, both of Roanoke; her former husband, Eddie Fitzgerald, of Waynesboro, Va.; a brother, Dwight Farley and wife, Ann, of Bristol, Va.; three special aunts, Emily Clem, Jo Ann McCroskey and husband, Jimmy, and Leona Vogt, all of Narrows; several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Kendel Tillison, of Bristol, Tenn.; a special nephew, Daniel Stanley, of Pensacola, Fla.; and many special friends. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011, in the chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows.
