Fisher, Muriel Claudine

Muriel Claudine Fisher, 94, of the Guinea Mt. Community, Pearisburg, departed this life Wednesday evening, July 30, 2008, at her home in the care of her loved ones.

Born in Lurich on October 7, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Janie Leota Dent Akers. She was a devoted member of Mt. View United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil A. Fisher; two daughters, Hazel Marie Gardener and Charlotte Ann Fisher; two grandsons, Jeffrey Fisher and Paul Fisher; two brothers, Jack Akers and Robert Akers; and a sister, Virginia Mae Dent Holmes.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Robert “Buddy” Fisher, of Narrows, and George “Squirrel” Fisher, of Mt. View; two daughters, Bonnie Jean Ivey, of Sumter, S.C., and Kathy F. Conley, of Narrows; 14 grandchildren; several greatgrandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Mt. View United Methodist Church with Pastor Ronnie Duncan, Betty Roberts and Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery at Mt. View.
