Imogene Gross Fisher, 65, of Memorial Boulevard in Narrows, Va., departed this life Monday afternoon, January 12, 2009, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke. Born in Ripplemead on October 7, 1943, she was a daughter of the late William Mack and Cecilia Price Gross. She loved and supported the Narrows Green Wave football teams through the years and all her friends and neighbors in Narrows knew her faithful walking daily to the Narrows Park. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jeffery Allen Fisher and Robert Fisher Jr.; her daughter, Baby Emogene Fisher; her brother, James Willard Gross; and her two sisters, Mary J. Turner and Ann L. Chaney. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 47 years, Robert A. “Buddy” Fisher; her three grandchildren, Scotty, Jordan, and Sadie Fisher; her sisters, Janice Frye, of Pearisburg, and Evelyn Hale and husband, Bob, of Roanoke; her sister-in-law, Sarah Gross, of Vinton; her special hairdresser, Connie Waldron; and several aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Jamie Hyden and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in the Anderson Cemetery at Mt. View.
