Finch, Curtis Rensselaer
Curtis Rensselaer Finch, Virginia Tech Professor Emeritus, Ed.D., Lt.Col. USAR (Ret), died on Saturday, January 20, 2018 after a long illness. He was born on January 15, 1939 in Greenwich, CT, the son of Ruth Curtis Finch and Hardy Rundell Finch, Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Spicer Finch, his sons Keith (Rumi Hagiwara, children Jay and May) of Tokyo, and Kevin (children Katrina and Justin) of Overland Park, KS. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Kathleen Spicer and Stuart Owsley; his sister-in-law, Betty Finch and nieces Jennifer and Jessica. He was pre-deceased by his brother, Hardy Rundell Finch, III.
A memorial service for Professor Finch will be held in the early spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg (VA) United Methodist Church, Historic Smithfield Plantation (1000 Smithfield Plantation Rd, Blacksburg, VA), or the Curtis R.
