OSCAR PRICE (“BUCK”) FERRELL, JR. 90, of Wolf Creek, VA, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2017. He was born September 18, 1927 at Chapel, VA, the son of the late Oscar, Sr. & Mamie Schrader Ferrell Orey.

Buck was a veteran of the United States Army and of World War II. He survived the beaches of Normandy and was sent into a nest of Japanese. He cut timber and farmed most of his life.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Spencer Allen Orey and his sister, Nannie “Louise” Dunford.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews and by two special friends, Buddy Conwell and Sam Wheeler.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at The King’s Way Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Tony Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in the Shrader’s Cemetery with military rites provided by Narrows VFW Post #6000 and American Legion Post # 68 of Narrows, Post #311 of Pembroke and Post #145 of Peterstown. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the King’s Way church from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
