Ferguson, Clay Patrick

ferguson_clay_patrickClay Patrick Ferguson, 49 of Narrows passed away Sunday, September 28th, 2014. He was born in Princeton, West Virginia on January 28th, 1965, and was the son of Charles Robert and Loetta Jewell Southern Ferguson. A 1983 graduate of Narrows High School, Clay served in the U.S. Army and was employed as a coal operator at Appalachian Power’s Glen Lyn plant for fourteen years.

He was a member of Gospel Light of Faith Church in Kellysville and American Legion Post #68 of Narrows. An avid musician, Clay enjoyed playing and singing music and won many bluegrass competition awards. He also played in the local band “Distant Thunder,” “Southern Country,” and others. Clay loved the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.

In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by his wife of 19 years, Ginger Renea Ferguson; six children, Miranda Dunn, Eric Ferguson, Kayla Evans, Tiffany Sublett, C.J. Ferguson, and Nolan Ferguson; ten grandchildren, Noah Lawrence, Anna Caudle, Drake Dunn, Gracie Bennett, Nova Ferguson, Sarah Evans, Peyton Evans, Addison Evans, Elijah Ferguson, and Brydan Sublett; one sister Cindy Vaughan of Narrows, a special nephew, Josh Vaughan; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous special friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 2nd, 2014 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Pastor Ginger Neely officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows with graveside rites conducted by VFW Post #6000 of Narrows, American Legion Posts #68 of Narrows, #311 of Pembroke and #145 of Peterstown. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM.
