Faw, Charles Edward
Charles Edward Faw, 76, of Long Shop, died Monday, September 17, 2007 at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in Mt. Airy, N.C. on January 22, 1931 to the late Obie and Vera Midkiff Faw.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Jim Gibson and two brothers, Haywood Faw and Donald “Spook” Faw.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and was also a member of the Bear Hunters Association.
He is survived by his wife, Judy S. Faw of Long Shop; two daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy and Danny Perdue of Long Shop and Patsy and John Burruss of Kentucky; two sons and daughter-in-law, Robert Faw and fiancee’ Amanda Waggy of Long Shop and Randy and Susan Frye of Radford; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Judi Faw of Thomasville, N.C., Clayton and Flora Faw, Dennis Faw, the Rev. Bill and Jewell Faw and the Rev. Benny and Nancy Faw, all of Mt. Airy, N.C.; five grandchildren, Eddie Gibson, Chris Frye, Bryan Frye, Danielle Perdue and Madison Faw and three great-grandchildren, Will Frye, Jake Frye, and Dylan Gibson.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 11 a.m., in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Everette Shepherd officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon, Wednesday and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
