Betty Frances Farris, age 67, of Woodstock, GA, passed away on Wednesday, March 7 after an extended illness. Born August 7, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Henry Arthur Farris and Eugenia Showalter Farris of Newbern, VA. She was preceded in death by brothers Henry Arthur Farris Jr. and Thomas Edward Farris.

She is survived by a nephew, John Henry Farris of Dublin, and numerous cousins. In addition, she leaves a special cousin Everett Farris (Deb) and life-long friends Steve Hale (Tricia) of Dublin, Mary Wright Herbold (George) of Knoxville, TN, Trish Walsh Davidson (Lane) of Minden, LA, Linda Wilkerson McClanahan of Knoxville, TN. and Nephi and John Howard (Roswell Ga.) There were also many supportive friends and teaching colleagues from the Woodstock area.

Betty taught school in Woodstock, Ga for many years before her retirement. She was a graduate of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. She loved her school, and especially the friends she made through the Sigma Chi fraternity. Betty was a bundle of irrepressible energy and kept those around her joyful with her laughter and special sense of humor.

Family and friends will gather at Seagle Funeral Home in Pulaski Tuesday March 13 for visitation between 12 and 1 pm with a brief celebration of life beginning at 1 pm with Everett Farris and Steve Hale presiding. Due to impending inclement weather, there will be no graveside service.

Sincere appreciation is extended to her wonderful friends in Woodstock, who supported her through her illness, and the compassionate staff at Kennestone Hospital and at WellStar Tranquility Hospice.
