Farrier, Carolyn Bickley

Carolyn Bickley Farrier, 96, of Summit Lane, Newport, departed this live Thursday morning December 22, 2016 at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg.

Born in Castlewood, Russell County, VA she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Elizabeth Couch Bickley. She was a graduate of Castlelwood High School, a member of Newport-Mt Olivet United Methodist Church in Newport serving in the UMW and as a Sunday School Teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Graham Hamilton Farrier, brothers William Guy, Jack and Joe Bickley and sisters Joyce Minor and Nell Lonon.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Nancy Farrier of the home and her caretaker, and Jeanette F. and Sherman Williams of Pembroke; her grandchildren John Williams, Joe Williams, and Mary W Rubas; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at 2:00 pm in the Newport-Mt Olivet United Methodist Church, Newport with burial following in the Newport Cemetery.
