country-roadMona Collins Farmer, 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Nash General Hospital in Rocky Mount, N.C. Born in Richlands, VA on May 2, 1930, she was the daughter of the late George Edward and Roxie Nunley Collins. Mona completed 20 years of service with Hercules, Inc. in Radford, VA prior to relocating to Rocky Mount, NC. She then worked as a receptionist and cashier for Beltone Hearing Aid until her retirement. Mona enjoyed the time she spent with her family and friends. She was a member of Benvenue Baptist Church and loved helping others. In addition to her parents, Mona was preceded in death by her beloved aunt, Sallie Nunley Joyce, and several other aunts and uncles. She leaves behind several cousins, including Elizabeth Collins Hearn of Rocky Mount, who was like a sister to her. The family thanks all of those who visited and cared for Mona while she was in Hunter Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Arrangements have been entrusted to Seagle Funeral Home of Pulaski, VA. A service to remember Mona will be held as a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Pulaski, VA. The family requests no flowers.
