Farmer, Kathleen Roseberry Horton

Kathleen Roseberry Horton Farmer, 91, of Dublin, Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, in the Highland Ridge Nursing Center. Born on September 15, 1918, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Mamie Smith Roseberry.

Her first husband who was killed in World War II, Robert F. Horton; and her second husband, Kelly Crockett Farmer Jr.; two brothers, Kenneth Roseberry, and T.J. “Bud” Roseberry; three sisters, Faye R. Hawkins, Goldie R. Kimbler, and Mary Helen Polston; and one son-in-law, Jesse Shaffer; also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Thornspring United Methodist Church and was retired from St. Albans Hospital with 16 years of service.

Surviving are her daughters and sons-inlaw, Bobbie H. Shaffer, Brenda H. and Larry R. Williams, Kathy F. and G. Wesley Price, and Pamela F. and Danny W. Jones, all of Dublin; nine grandsons, Jeffrey S. Shaffer, Scott Shaffer, Kelly R. Williams, Gary L. Williams, Kenneth G. Price, Jacob W. Price, Stephen K. Price, Danny W. Jones Jr. and Jeremy C. Jones; great-grandchildren, Samantha N. Tigerina, Alexandra L. Price, Sierra K. Williams, Kellie S. Williams, Kaylee E. Shaffer, Nathan C. Price, Emma N. Jones, Jackson S. Price, Gracie M. Jones, Logan A. Jones, and Rose K. Price; great-great-grandson, Joshua Tigerina; two sisters, Arleta R. Tuckwiller, of Richmond, Va., and Lillian R. Nieves, of Miami, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009, from the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Steve McMurray officiating. Entombment will be private at Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Dublin. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:30 p.m. until time of service at Bower Funeral Home, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski.
