Jimmy Don Farmer, 77 of Eggleston departed this life to be in his Heavenly Home May 30, 2021, in the care of Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born in Giles County on May 20, 1944, he was a son of the late Ethelbert and Ethel Lucas Farmer.

A servant, Jimmy ensured the safety of his country in service to the US Army. He would later work for Federal Mogul and serve his Lord as a lifelong member and Lay Speaker with the Eggleston First United Methodist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Roger Farmer.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Judy Smith Farmer; a daughter, Robin Lampton of Narrows; grandchildren, Chelsea Cole, and Raven Settlage (Joshua); great-grandchildren, Layla Lewis, Adrie Lewis (Bubby), Harlow Cole, Isaac Settlage, and sweet Eden Jaimy Dawn Settlage, who is on her way; one great-great grandchild, Josie Settlage; a sister, Barbara Mitchell (Paul) of Blacksburg, VA, a brother, Charlie Farmer (Kathy) of Ridgeway; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wish to have a private celebration of the life that Jimmy Don gave them at a later date.
