Falls, Lola Meredith
Lola Byrd Meredith Falls of Cascade Drive in Pembroke, VA went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 2, 2022 in her home. Born on December 22, 1925 and raised in Pembroke, VA she was a daughter of the late Ward and Gertrude Jones Meredith.
Lola worked at Celanese for over 35 years, but her favorite work was found in her home and caring for her family, church and many, many friends. She was well known for her cooking, especially her coconut pound cake. She was always ready to share her delicious recipes and looked forward to Sunday dinners with family at her home.
In addition to her parents, Lola is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Falls; son, Jody Falls; daughter, Cathy Reed; sisters, Nannie Mae Runions, Mary Lee St. Clair, Ida Frances Blevins, Lucille McCall, and Shirley Eades; and brothers, Garnet, Jack, Doug, and Shank Meredith.
Left to cherish her memory to their hearts are her son, Boyce Falls (Sonya) of Bullock, NC; son-in-law, Walter Reed of Pembroke; daughter-in-law, Barbara Falls of Pembroke; brothers, Gene Meredith (Lahoma) of Pembroke, and Kenny Meredith (Dottie) of Pembroke; sister, Phyllis William “Snooky” of Pearisburg; brother-in-law, Benny Eades of Pembroke; sister-in-law, Carol Meredith; grandchildren, Mitch Reed (Jodi), Steven Falls (Jordan), Lori Schetselaar (Marc), Jason Falls (Jenny), and Jeremy Falls; 13 great-grandchildren; special friends and helpers.
The family wishes to thank her special friends and caregivers for all of the love they have shown throughout the past years including, Sandy Meredith, Jodi and Mitch Reed; Kenny Meredith; Barbara Falls; Walter Reed; Traci Merrix, Melissa Ramos-Saunders, Elyn Bartley, and Betty Stafford.
A Funeral Service will be conducted for Lola Falls on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating in the Pembroke First United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends at the Pembroke First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
While flowers are appreciated, the family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Pembroke United Methodist Church to continue spreading love and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
